Avoiding Impotence

It’s one of the less palatable facts of life, one that most men hate to admit, especially as they get older and the idea of being virile takes on more meaning. As we get older our bodies begin to change and we don’t like some of the changes.

Yes, the grey hair gives a certain dignity (not all men dislike that) but the real changes that we struggle with are the ones that people don’t really see; only those who know us more intimately know of those changes. Impotence is when a man loses the ability to please his partner in that most intimate of places, the bedroom.

For centuries it was accepted as a fact that it would likely come at some point in a man’s life. But that’s all changed. With modern medicine it doesn’t need to be the case. Modern treatments can go a long way to prevent the problem. The development of Viagra and the fact that you can now buy genuine Viagra online means that life has become a lot easier for the man in the street, no more waiting in embarrassment at the doctors or the pharmacy while they fill the prescription.

Of course there are some risks with it, as there are with all medicines. Viagra works on the blood vessels and anyone with a heart condition should talk to their doctor first. A doctor can give the best advice and even suggest the best form of alternative treatment if Viagra isn’t appropriate. Also of note is the fact that you can order Cialis via a website.

As long as you’ve talked it through with your doctor and there are no issues that would put you at risk, then why not buy online.

Viagra can give your sex life a lift

An ideal relationship is one that includes a harmony between mind, spirit, and body. Sex and passion are the crucial factors which sustain a relationship between two partners. A certain depth of sexual intimacy is necessary in spicing up your relationship. When this physical component is troubled or missing for some reason, it can obliterate your sex life and can lead to several relationship problems. Erectile dysfunction or impotence is one such condition that is defined as an inability to get and maintain erection during sexual intercourse. Of all the sexual problems, erectile dysfunction is the most common problem faced by men.

Erectile dysfunction – Get acquainted with it

Erectile dysfunction is not an inevitable disorder, but it can impact the quality of life and sexual relationship. Erectile dysfunction can be caused by multiple factors ranging from neurological, endocrinological, vascular, and psychological. Impotence can also be attributed to various reasons like age, side effects of illegal drugs, diabetes, and cardiovascular problems. In order to get to the root of the problem to determine what is causing erectile dysfunction, you should first understand the erection process.

It all starts with sexual stimulation of the penis, which sends signals to the brain. The brain responds to these signals by sending reflexes to a web of nerves and blood vessels to increase the flow of blood to the penis. As blood enters the penis, it gets trapped under pressure and causes erection. Blood is prevented to flow out from the penis by valves present in the penile blood vessels. In this way, erection is maintained till sexual climax is reached during a sexual intercourse. Erection is a complex process, so a disruption in any of these processes can disrupt the chain of processes that lead to a normal erectile function.

Erectile dysfunction vs. sex life

For many men, the fact that they fail to get an erection for a satisfactory sexual intercourse affects their self-esteem and confidence level a great deal. This mental and physical dilemma is reflected in your daily life and in the way you behave with your partner. The guilt of not satisfying your partner, gives you a feeling of imperfection. As a result, you cannot connect with your partner either sexually or emotionally. The recurring instances of failing to overcome erectile dysfunction can make you totally disinterested in sex. To save your sex life from being doomed to failure, it’s better to discuss your condition with a doctor to seek erectile dysfunction treatment.

Viagra – The sex life saver

Male impotence can be treated effectively with the help of impotence pills. In 1998, the FDA approved Viagra (sildenafil) for treatment of erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil works by relaxing blood vessels to improve flow of blood to the penis to get an erection. Now the common questions that arise in the minds of many men is how fast Viagra can work and for how long it works. So the answers to both the questions is that efficacy of Viagra is not same for all individuals. Some men can achieve erection sooner than others, who may have to wait for a little while. Therefore depending on strength of the drug and personal response to the drug, erection can be maintained for a longer period of time.

Viagra should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken half an hour before sexual activity. This medication should not be taken more than once per day. For most men, Viagra 50mg dosage is recommended to start with. But based on the effectiveness and tolerance, the dosage can be adjusted to Viagra 25mg or Viagra 100mg.

How to Properly Take Erectile Dysfunction Drugs

Everyone has heard that commercial for Viagra talking about if you experience any adverse side effects from taking the medication then you should consult a doctor immediately. While side effects that last for four or five hours are rare, there is a concern that it could happen to anyone who takes this medication. For those considering taking this there are a few things that you can do to make sure that you do not suffer side effects of this medication.

The best way to make sure that you do not suffer any adverse side effects is by making sure that you consult a doctor. A doctor or health care provider will be able to check your health history and determine if there is any reason to be concerned about suffering from side effects from taking this medication. A doctor will also be able to assess your overall health. You run a better chance of having this medicine work the way that it is supposed to if you are in good health, which is why a doctor will take into account your overall health.

Once your doctor or health care provider gives you the go ahead to use Viagra they will write you a prescription for the medication. The only way to get this medication is through a local pharmacy or a trusted online pharmacy. No matter which way you go with you will be required to have a prescription written in your name.

Even though you have made sure you will not suffer any side effects from Viagra, sometimes they will come out of no where. It is important that should you experience any negative side effects that you seek the help of a health care provider. Negative side effects can result in impotence, permanent erectile dysfunction and even potential heart problems. Seeking a health care provider if these side effects happen will reduce the chance of any permanent problems occurring.

Myths and Truths for Treating Impotence with Viagra

When it comes to impotence, many men are embarrassed to discuss the issue with anyone including their doctor.  That is not good as there are ways to treat the problem and help those suffering with it.  One of the top choices and also one of the misunderstood choices is the prescription treatment known as Viagra.  There are many myths out there regarding this pill and treatment choice.  If you are too embarrassed to speak with your doctor, then you might not know or understand the truths.  With that in mind, here are some of these myths and the truths so you can be better informed.  After reading this, please consider speaking with a medical professional to get treatment for your impotence.

The first myth is that it will only help you when you are an older man.  This is not true as it can help men of all ages once they are sexually mature.  The thinking behind this myth is that you must have another age-related disease that causes your erectile dysfunction in order for the treatment to work.  The fact is that it can also be psychological and the pill will help with that no matter the age.  A second myth is that anyone can take it for their problem achieving an erection.  The truth is that people who are on certain medications or who have certain health issues should not take it.  Consult with a professional first before taking Viagra.

Another myth is that when it does not work once then you will not see positive effects from it in the future.  Not true at all and here is why.  Sometimes the body is not used to producing an erection.  Psychologically you might also be helping to aid in your impotence.  The first time you take it make sure to take a lower dose and see what happens.  If there is no success, try a larger does and try to calm your mind and let the drug work.  Without talking to someone about your impotence, you will never understand your treatment options.

Manage Your Diabetes to Reduce Impotence

A modified schematic of the Circulatory_System...

According to recent surveys and medical journals, men with diabetes exhibit symptoms of impotence or erectile dysfunction more often than healthy men. The study focuses on diabetes as a disease rather than their weight alone. This is substantial because obese men already have a greater chance of having impotence problems, and previous studies only reinforced the weight connection. Diabetes affects various parts of the body, including the circulatory system.

It is not uncommon for diabetics to experience a multitude of circulatory issues, ranging from blood clots to nerve issues as a result from lack of blood flowing throughout the body. This is why in some instances, diabetics lose feeling of their toes and other extremities. The same principle applies to impotence, while they do not lose feeling of their penis, there is not enough blood flowing in the body fast enough to produce an erection. Medicines such as Viagra are potentially deadly to them because the body is physically incapable of generating enough circulation.

For patients with diabetes, the easy solution for fixing male impotence is to eat right, exercise, and monitor blood sugar frequently. Men who controlled the disease and did not have high blood sugar readings experienced reduced symptoms. Exercising daily increases the circulation in one’s legs and lower body, thus enabling the body to produce the desired reaction when the time rises later that day. Improved circulation is the key to minimizing impotence problems without drastic measures or harmful medications.

Sometimes though, impotence complications are a sign or result of something much more serious. Always discuss any medical issue with your primary care provider to void larger problems. Impotence can be a sign of something as serious as a blood clot, or as simple as avoiding certain foods. Certain medications can also hinder a patient’s sexual health or ability to function.

Losing Weight Helps Combat Impotence

Researchers in Italy, the country known for its delectable cuisine and romantic vibe, recently discovered losing weight helps reduce impotence and erectile dysfunction. When Viagra and other prescription treatments hit the market, researchers around the world have been trying to figure out why male impotence is on the rise. It is not a coincidence men are becoming “larger than life” and experiencing symptoms of impotence simultaneously.

The study, featuring over 100 impotent males between the ages of 35 and 55, placed the test group on a balanced diet and exercise program for two years. After the time passed, the men lost 10 percent of their body weight and exhibited signs of reproductive and sexual health. Collectively, 33 percent of the males saw major improvements in their sexual functionality. The study concluded obese and overweight men have a 30 percent chance of becoming impotent during their lifetime.

Perhaps more alarming, men who exercised regularly and ate right lost weight in the two years, without drastically changing their lives. Blood flow remains the overwhelming reason why obese men have difficulty performing sexually. Overweight people suffer from circulatory problems, which is caused by sedentary acts (couch potato syndrome), lack of exercise, and preexisting conditions such as diabetes. Exercising improves blood flow while reducing one’s body mass index (AMI).

To doctors, the results are not surprising, as medical practitioners across the world try to curb the obesity epidemic. Perhaps these recent reports will encourage younger generations and obese men in their “prime” to lose weight. With the surplus of erectile dysfunction and impotence medications available, it provides people with an “easy way out” to a life-threatening issue.

As frightening as it sounds, doctors are reporting increased numbers of young patients experiencing symptoms of impotence. While the connection to their weight is unknown, one can make a generalization based on recent news reports regarding the “super sizing” of America. Lose weight, in the name of sexual reproduction.

Impotence, Defined

It is a common misunderstanding, the long jaded stigma – a truth has been changed into an embarrassment, mistaken as a mimic of masculinity, the shattering of worth. Impotence is a name so many cringe with, frightened it will find them and brand them without merit; transform them suddenly into less of a man and more of a pity. They seek then to ignore the possibility of it, try to think themselves immune. They will not succumb to such an obvious weakness, the proof of some inherited flaw.

These notions, however, are incorrect. Impotence is not a disgrace. It is not a destruction of pride or ability. It is instead a medical condition (formed by a variety of often unavoidable causes) and it must be understood. Recognizing it as no longer a shame but instead as a health concern is vital for all men. There can be no denial of this, only the search for treatment – which so many refuse, thinking their own egos can reverse the effects. This is not true. It is instead only harmful.

Impotence, simply defined, is the inability to maintain (or even develop) an erection. It is a sexual complication, caused when there is too little blood offered to a penis and it therefore cannot sustain hardness. It is not, despite what so many may believe, a loss of prowess. It is not a reflection on ability or personal skill – although such thoughts can easily exaggerate the condition, with stress leading to further problems.

Impotence (or, as it is more technically called, Erectile Dysfunction) is a disease that must be treated. Its origins are numerous and can reflect several dangerous health concerns: such as diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord damage, kidney failure or the beginnings of a stroke. It is important then that no man believes this to be a mere emasculation. It is instead an illness.

And understanding this is therefore vital in defending against it.

The Dangers of Stress: Impotence

It’s another frantic morning, the hours filled to obligations, the seconds stolen by demands. Your life is not your own: it instead belongs to the many duties of your family, your career and your friends. There’s no moment that is not scheduled. There’s no day that is without activity. Relaxation is an almost forgotten idea, little more than a memory you cannot fully recall. Your time is an anxious thing and you must meet every concern without hesitation, without pause. You are forever busy.

And the toll this is taking is not what you expected.

You can – much to your confusion, your worry – no longer achieve an erection. Impotence has formed, leaving you stunned. You have always offered good sense to your body; health has been a constant worry. And an examination proves you to be physically capable, with no arrivals of diseases or other problems. There is no obvious reason for your failing arousal… except for stress.

Skin is not merely a series of nerves and their reactions. It’s instead shaped to feelings, sensations. Just as fear can cause the sudden spikes of adrenaline and ancient responses (fight or flight is still common), stress can generate a sudden inability to perform.

Impotence occurs when the flow of blood to the penis is stifled. Without the necessary amount, an erection cannot form (or at least be maintained). And, while this response is physical, its cause can instead be emotional. Anxiety can burden the mind, leaving all thoughts unable to create the expected arousal. There’s no stimulation to nerves; there is only the distraction of what must later be done – work, family events, etc. The many demands of a life can quickly overwhelm any man and this can force the body to rebel.

Soothing nerves therefore becomes the only needed medicine. Men are to separate themselves from their too strenuous tasks and remember instead the value of relaxing. This will cure all complications.

The Medicinal Effect: Impotence

Health is a fickle thing – predicted only by its demands, its pleads for constant attention. A body can betray your intentions quickly, with skin transformed into a series of complications and concerns. Age is unfortunate. Lifestyle can be problematic. And there is often little to do but take the necessary medications: the ever changing doses and their many effects.

One of those effects is impotence, however – and this was something you never wanted.

Impotence (or erectile dysfunction) commonly occurs when blood cannot flow properly toward the penis and is instead restricted within the veins. Such restriction typically is caused when substances build up within the arterial walls, causing too little maneuverability for the blood. There are other possibilities for the lack of an erection, however, and medication is one of them.

Certain perceptions can skewer the levels of testosterone within the body, creating a sudden inability to perform sexually. They can also impede the stimulation of the gonads and their subsequent nerves, stifling any chance of arousal. Often the veins are in no way constricted by these drugs; they are instead merely without the desire to even achieve an erection.

And this can, naturally, be alarming to any individual.

It is therefore highly recommended that you discuss your medications with your doctor before beginning any treatment. Understand all potential risks or side effects. Never assume you will be immune to impotence. Instead be aware of the possibility and how it will impact your life. There are sometimes ways to substitute certain medicines with ones far less imposing… or, of course, this may be a complication you will have to simply face.

Never cease your drug regimen. Never introduce new prescriptions (such as Viagra or Cialis) into your life without first consulting your doctor. The consequences could be dangerous.

Impotence is an unfortunate response to many common medicines. Learn all you can and take the appropriate steps.

The Proof of Evenings: Impotence

Semen
Image via Wikipedia

It is the most vicious of cycles: you fret over the sudden lack of arousal, the inability to sustain an erection; you think yourself becoming impotent, succumbing to age and all of its perils. Panic becomes common. Urgency fills each thought. And you are rendered helpless, unable to perform as you wish, unable to find satisfaction. Intercourse seems an impossibility – and one you cannot return to its former importance. You are not the man you once were. You’re instead changed… and not for the better.

So you sleep; and you dream; and you wonder if there is anything to be done. Upon waking, however, you find evidence of an erection, the nocturnal emissions. You’re confused. You thought this all was a terrible permanency, but the appearance of ejaculation leaves you suddenly relieved – and suddenly able to achieve stimulation.

The body is dependent on far more than physical sensations. It is instead dominated by psychology. Emotions like worry or fear can trigger immediate responses: such as illness, fatigue or even impotence.

Though commonly caused by a constriction of blood vessels, erectile dysfunction can also be formed by stress. A nervous condition can cease any chance of arousal, leaving an individual unable to achieve even a brief erection. And this, of course, becomes exacerbated as that same individual is made self-conscious about his current state. The panic feeds into itself, creating greater damage.

The proof of a mental complication is to be found in the night, however. When ejaculate can be seen, it is therefore able to be reasoned that a man is not suffering from impotence – he is instead suffering from a form of anxiety. This then helps him to lessen the strain and craft an easier treatment: simple relaxation.

Before impotence can be assumed, it must be addressed within the evening. If erections can occur then, the condition is purely of the mind and not of the body.
